actually, Jesus is likely as mythical as his daddy, but based on the myths, he was more Jerry Garcia than Johnny Rotten.

And punks are still the people Jesus would love most, being poor lost souls and all. And yes, the hippie definition definitely plays a big role as well. The main reason I was saying punk, is because I grew up a reject in red state land here and punk was my "out" from all the pain and hatred directed at me. The messages are similar being that they round up all the rejects and give comfort. Like I said, the hippie description is perfect as well. I think it all boils down to Jesus can mean many things to many people.
