2. Also in the top tier in our (B&N) region: RW hardcovers |
|
The Coulters, Savages and O'Reillys go walking out the door, often without the benefit of stopping at the cash register first.
Oh, those RW values people. Stealing, AND screwing their own favorites out of royallties. Delicious.

Oh that is too rich.
They probably hate thinking about giving any money to B&N because of all those dirty liberals sitting over there at the froofy coffee place thinking that are so smart and cool and all stupid brainy people.
:grr:
I will now re-enact this post in the form of interpretive dance!

6. Do tell, book biz friend! I wonder if those are the ones we get donated so ... |
|
often to the library? If so, Toxic Annie and the Big Giant Head get screwed TWICE and then some, if you consider it.
And, since we already have sufficient stock, the donated copies go straight to the Friends chapter for the used sale.
We already tend to overbuy that stuff already to proactively head off political repercussions.
I once was asked in a philosophy class if every action was political. I said yes then, and I'll say YES, INDEEDY now... (sigh)

4. It is -- and let me tell you one reason why |
|
Because they can bring a nice, expensive Bible "back" and say they want their money back for it -- old granny already has a $70 Family Bible. Why, I don't have a receipt? But I'm a good Christian! Just give me my money!!!
I used to literally watch people take them off a shelf, put them in one of our store bags, and take them to the register. I never gave them their money back -- just store credit. And, they would fight, scream, and threaten all kinds of nasty store.
Our WWJD jewelry was stolen CONSTANTLY.

Sad but funny. Apparently junkies do the same thing at Walmart what with their "no questions asked" return policy--they just go to a Walmart grab something on display outside and walk up to the customer service counter and return it for cash.

5. The Holy Bible and the Satanic Bible are high on the list of "books with legs" |

list for libraries (as in, those checked out, but never returned).
Because it's difficult to replace exact editions when it happens, both titles are a major, major cataloging nightmare.
