Do the Pretenders know Limbaugh uses... |
|
My City was Gone to start his radio show? THey must but man, on some days it drives me nuts when I have to hear that great tune start up only to hear Limbo get going. Did anybody ask him not to?

1. I always wondered about that stuff too |
|
we have a local conversative Jay Severin who uses "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" for his show. I think some of the stuff Severin says would make Lenny's skin crawl.

2. They probably have no control over it. |
|
Record labels usually approach bands with "you either give us the copyrights ot it's the highway." Then they can do whatever they want with the songs, and the performers and composers can do nothing.
That's why I find it extremely hard to feel any sympathy towards such companies when they whine about "Internet piracy."

3. still, they could voice an opinion on it |
|
many artists do get upset when someone uses their work without some sort of permission and often publicly say something.
I'm not faulting the group for not speaking out just wondering if maybe they did at one time

5. I always figured that that was meant as a joke by him |
|
See, as you probably know, Chrissy Hines is a HUGE PETA supporter so he probably started using it as a bumper as a "Ha I can BUY it if I want to and there is nothing you can do about it" pigheaded assanine joke.
That is how I always took it anyway.

8. Always remember: piracy cuts off the band's money, too. |
|
We ALL want the record companies to die a well-deserved death - but piracy kills the bands, composers, orchestras, tech-people, cover artists, lyricists right along with them.
Pay the bands directly. Pay them indirectly through the record companies. But don't simply steal the product.

7. I remember one of the conservative radio hosts used the Indigo Girls |
|
"Shame on You." Yep, the music of a liberal activist lesbian duo.
Of course, Moby sells his music to lots of companies. He said he donates the money to various causes.
