I have a simple computer/internet related question...
And for some reason, I feel like I should know this so maybe it is just a brain-fart, but I do need to know, so here goes...

How do I find out what my IP address is?

Thank you very much in advance.

3. And if you type "ipconfig /all", it will give you much...
....more information. If you need it of course.

5. Let's see if I can make this simple...
...The lease you're referring to is regarding the time you're allowed to use that particular IP address you have. When you
configure your computer for network access, you can put in the IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS, Proxy, etc. information manually,
or you can simply check the box associated with DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), and your machine will then send
out a packet requesting all that information from a DHCP server on your network, or with your ISP. The DHCP server is
configured to assign an IP addresses from a particular group of IPs (Called a scope) for a particular amount of time. This time is called
the "Lease". When your lease is up, your computer will simply renew the lease. Try this:

ipconfig /release (This will remove the current IP configuration)

ipconfig /all (You're notice that everything is empty)

ipconfig /renew (This will send out a new request, and new information will be provided by the DHCP server)

Depending on the timing, you may or may not get the same IP address you had before.

Yoohoo!!!! Fun with command prompt!!!!!

8. Thanks anyway, didn't need that much...
Just dealing with annoying emails from PayPal (where I don't have an account) that say I do. I just wanted to be able to tell them that their quoted IP address was not mine.
