1. That we don't see shit like this any more

At least, not outside of the US, North Korea, and some of the Muslim countries.

22. ,Dont leave me behind
Don't leave me behind
I'm only two feet tall
I've got a lot to offer
The present is all I know

Hey could you wait for me
You're moving way too fast
If you could see what I see
You'd want to make this moment last

Chorus:
Here is the spirit of beginning
To the shape of the world
That we're living in
The goodness of human nature
Spins the dice every time a new life begins

Won't you take my hand
I'm really not all that slow
Step a little like me
You can watch my feet
Oh the places we'll go

Don't you understand
I just want to be like you
I'm countin' on you rather? patiently?
'Cause you were once just like me

by Tara Nevins of Donna the buffalo

Everytime I see a photo like this Tara's song comes to mind

Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 04:42 PM by conscious evolution
My favorite band.
When they play this song the little ones swarm the stage. That all started with a friends 2 year old.She had been hearing their shows since before she was born. When she was old enough to walk she would make a beeline to the stage at their shows. It was pretty funny watching the crowd part to let her thru,With dad trying to chase her.
The band and their music is very progressive in an old fashioned sort way and are very family oriented.Another of their songs is called 'Family Picture'.
check 'em out Donnathebuffalo.com

on edit;I wish I could figure out how to provide links on here.I would link some of their live stuff if I could.

Del and Phyllis - Because it shows just how enduring true love can really be.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom - Because he's got giant balls of steel for putting his political life on the line in the name of what's right.

My son Sergio - No matter how bad my day is, he always reminds me just how beautiful and precious life really is.

She helped him clean his room, and he read a book to her about space and told her, "maybe someday we can drive spaceships." (I couldn't help spying)

29. I don't have a pic, but
I remember seeing Harry Connick Jr go down to New Orleans post Katrina. He rescued a man who was stranded on his front porch. Harry got into the water, waded to his house, & carried the guy to the boat. He even went so far as to give the man the shirt off his back.

IMHO, a true representation of what HELP looks like in the midst of a disaster.

42. I have many things that restore my faith in humanity.

We have good friends who help us fight the good fight.

There are people all over the globe who fight the good fight.

I come from a family who raised me with good, solid values- like equality for all humans, respect for the earth, a respect for cultures and people from all over the world, empathy for those less fortunate and the goodness in my heart to care for them.

This is Al and Tipper Gore speaking before An Inconvenient Truth at the LA Film Festival. I am thankful there are still leaders who care.

I get to come home to this every day.

And for pictures of George Clooney cuddling with a puppy.
