Positive or negative, they thrive on attention. Same as people who post thinly-veiled whiny threads about how someone on DU hurt their fragile little feelings. (eg. "Some people are such assholes" or "Why can't people just accept me?" or "I'm taking my doll dishes and going home and you can't slide down my cellar door anymore" ad naseum.)

It's all about attracting attention and garnering undeserved sympathy. And, frankly, it's disgusting.
