What are you reading right now? |
|
I'm sorry....I'm sort into a "please talk to me" mood right now.
But I always like to read about what others here are reading.
I just started "Kate" by William J. Mann, a biography of Katharine Hepburn. Excellent so far.

1. Just getting to the end of one book: |
|
In Search of Zarathustra - The First Prophet and the Ideas that Changed the World Paul Kriwaczek. Plotting the course of ideas which flowed from Zarathustra (alias Zoroaster), in particular the notion of dualism which is present in Catharism, Manichaeism, Mithraism...
In the middle of another:
Blair's Wars John Kampfner. How a Prime Minister with no interest in foreign policy managed to get Britain into 5 different wars within the first 6 years of office.
Just starting two more:
An Introduction to Shi'i Islam - the History and Doctrine of Twelver Shi'ism Moojan Momen. I've always found Shi'i Islam more intellectually interesting than Sunni personally.
Ancient Cities - the Archaeology of Urban Life in the ancient Near East and Egypt, Greece, and Rome Charles Gates.
