My late great Dad was The Condom King of Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania.
My Dad's been gone for nearly four years now, and I just heard this interesting piece of news about him. I wish I'd known this while he was still alive.

Dad grew up in the small coal-mining town of Nanty-Glo, in Western PA. When he was around 15 (this would have been in the early 1940's), a train derailed near Nanty-Glo. Boxes of condoms were spilled during the wreck. Those boxes were retrieved by my Dad, and thereafter, if you needed a condom in Nanty-Glo, he's the one you had to see. Fork over the money and Dad would give you the condom.

Isn't it funny to find this out now? My sister told me this over the weekend, and I laughed so hard I hurt my back, and nearly peed my pants.

How close is Nanty-Glo to East Rochester? That's where MY Dad grew up. Wonder if he was a customer?

8. Richardo!!
Hi guy! :pals:

I think East Rochester is in Beaver County, which is not at all close to Nanty-Glo. So, Dad Richardo probably never bought a condom from Dad Bunny, which was probably a good thing, ultimately. Wouldn't you agree?

PS - my folks had seven kids, so I think Dad was doing what any good dealer does - just sell the stuff, never use it! :D
