CONFESS!!!! Secretly you enjoy watching Lawrence Welk - I do
I was home from campaigning and vegging out on the Sofa on saturday night - flipped the channels and found Lawrence Welk repeat on PBS. It was their Halloween special from 1976.

When I was a kid my parents & grandparents watched it all the time. Heck when I visited my grandfather before his death in 2000, Saturday night was Lawrence Welk and Pennsylvania Polka night.

So yes, I enjoy watching Lawrence Welk. When I was a kid - I dreamed one day I would be a tap dancer just like Arthur Duncan

Good night, sleep tight
and pleasant dreams to you.
Here's a wish and a prayer
That every dream comes true.
And now 'til we, meet again,
Adios, Dobranoc, Auf Wiedersehen.

4. It was a halloween special?
That explains something.

I had been watching PBS earlier in the day and when I turned on the TV Sat Evening, there was a woman singing on LW. She was wearing a white dress with purple polka-dots with a lime green taffeta skirt underneath. She had on some sort of purple bubble hair piece on her head. It was the most god-awful outfit I'd ever seen.

Is this the episode you saw this weekend?

7. Never could stand him.
When people say "boobtube" I automatically think the "boob" is Lawrence Welk.

11. I too remember
watching with my parents and I will pause and watch for a little while as I scan the channels. The thing that impresses me most now that I am older is that this program although stiffly organized had very impressive talent both instrumentally and vocally. These people were and some still are exceptional musicians.
