what are you giving out on Halloween? |
|
I have learned in the last few days that giving out chocolate candy on Halloween is no longer appropriate, according to my wife and kids 11,9,and6. Could this possibly be true? Are Snickers and Reese's cups so hopelessly out of fashion that no parent would disgrace his daughters by giving out all the old favorites?
do Starburst, Gummi worms and Skittles take the candy crown on Halloween?
My God its chocolate! no more Hershey's with almonds? no more Almond joys?
Is this widespread or just my nutty wife and the hens around this one neighborhood?
I need to know!

3. Chocolate candy is expensive. |
|
If you only get twenty trick-or-treaters, it's okay. If you get two hundred, it isn't doable. In the past we always bought mostly less expensive candy and just a couple bags of small chocolate bars because otherwise Halloween would cost a hundred bucks just for the candy.

|
no, we're giving out Butterfingers, Peanutbutter Cups, Almond Joys & kit kats.
when I was about 6 one of my grandparents neighbors did indeed give my twin brother & me glasses of water in our bags. they ripped at the bottom of his walkway. Unfortunately a couple of our great uncles were visiting at the time. lets just say that nieghbor's house was a wonder to behold the following day.

Even I am not that mean.
I do have to go across town to get some candy at Whole Foods. Your trick or treaters can lick the donut box. :P

our Granddaughter to take for her class party. Normally we bake something for the party but time is short and I'm too lazy this year.
Last year, a neighbor who works for one of the food companies, gave away pudding cups. All the kids raved about that one.

17. I wish non-chocolate candy was the fad when I was a kid |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 07:01 PM by GloriaSmith
I'm one of those strange females that don't like chocolate. I didn't like it as a kid either so Halloween was more about the costumes and less about the actual treats. :(
To get back on subject though, I haven't heard of chocolate being out. It's a classic so it's never out of style.

19. If no one else is giving out chocolate, then you should give chocolate |
|
One of the things that I liked as a kid on Halloween was the variety. I didn't get candy all that often during the year and actually discovered some candy trick-or- treating.
