Yesterday morning I got in my car to find this silver stringy-like substance all over the doors in the front, across the vents, etc. I touched it, and in the spot I touched, it just kinda disappeared. My oldest son who was in the backseat said there wasn't anything back there, but "those look like spiderwebs mom". :scared: I get in the car this morning, and there's a whole mess more on the passenger side floorboard. I'm trying hard not to freak out. I'm terrified of all the little creepy crawly things, and I certainly don't want any in my car! I can just imagine some spider dropping down in front of my face while I'm driving. :( So, what do you guys think? Does it sound like spiderwebs to you too, or could it possibly be anything else? Also, if it is a spider, is there some way to coax it out of my car? Thanks for any help.

I experienced the same thing, except I just had a few strings along the dash and windshield, while I was driving down the highway a spider started crawling down the windshield so I grabbed my people magazine from the passenger seat and SMACKED it! Then I gave the magazine to my mom to read and went to the car wash and vacuumed out my car. Oh, I forgot to tell you how I was squealing and trying not to get into an accident when I saw the thing.
Good Luck finding the spider :-)

I'm just so worried that it's gonna jump on me or something while I'm driving, and I just know I'll freak out. I'd love to be able to find some way to get the thing out now, before I feel like I have to kill it. I'm trying to google, and I'm having a difficult time because of the pictures. Thanks for the luck though. :)

4. Consider the spider's perspective: |
|
She's found a nice safe warm spot to set up house. But, there's no prey. Spiders are practical creatures, so after a few days of unsuccessful hunting, they're likely to move elsewhere. (I had a huge, gorgeous black-and-yellow spider string a web across my bedroom window a few weeks ago - but it wasn't a good flightpath for insects, so after a couple of days she was gone again. I was sad to see her go.) Just leave the windows open a bit, if you can, and hope she moves on. BTW, most spiders in the U.S. are entirely harmless, so if you do see her, you could easily scoop her up in a hand, or even with a paper cup, and safely deposit her outside.
