Mine is most definitely the Shining. Nicholson is great and the directing of Kubrick is, as usual, outstanding.
What is your favorite horror movie?

2. I absolutely, positively cannot pick just one. |

However, "Halloween" was my first big favorite.

4. I don't know if I have one favorite |
|
I love Psycho as a psychological horror flick. The Exorcist gave me nightmares for weeks when I saw it in the theater as a kid. And for pure camp delight, I love Motel Hell.

14. Let me add Mothra and The Thing |
|
The Thing (Kurt Russel version) still scares the pee out of me
Also, have YET to be able to watch American Werewolf in London past the first dream scene
Seriously though, I love all the Godzilla movies, as well as originals like Dracula and The Mummy and Wolfman...love the old black and whites.

Mothra is my second favorite Toho monster. And the golden years at Universal were the best years in American horror.

Great story and there were so many great scenes. The first time the two girls were standing in the hallway is FAR more scary than any slasher movie now.

It is so perfect. Plausible, with a realistic portrayal and an open ending.
To this day big flocks of birds kinda creep me out.

10. the original nightmare on elm street |
|
I love the entire series actually. I have it on DVD and VHS. I remember when there was the Freddy Krueger tv series when I was a kid, and I would watch it, go to bed soon afterwards, and have the worst nightmares ever, but I never stopped watching until it went off. lol. Does anyone else remember the TV show?

16. Dawn of the Dead (Original Romero Version) |
|
True horror film that horrified me.
I remember a distinct sick, dark feeling after seeing that for the first time.
