I used to see it mostly in the East, too. I just came back from Florida and attending my 50th High School Reunion in Orlando.

My geometry teacher in high school was into it. "De Colores" in Spanish literally means "Of Colors." I think they have a rainbow symbol, but it's not a gay group.
