Travel Channel show. He's a traveler and a chef, so he focuses on food a lot. He did a show on Quebec, then went somewhere north and hung out with villagers (I should have paid more attention!) who he showed hunting a seal and eating it raw. Keep in mind, I'm in Texas, so it was all surreal to me.

In (very) northern québec or nunavut. I must admit I've never seen them eat raw seal, but that's the only possibility that comes to mind.

I'm in Texas, and was only half paying attention at the time (I was trying to warn my kids what they were about to see without scaring them if they wanted to watch), so I wasn't sure whether he said Inuit, or whether I was filling in the blanks with the one word my non-snow-experienced mind knew.

They went out in a little skiff, shot the seal, then the whole family skinned and ate it on the kitchen floor.

Being vegetarian, that wasn't the part that made me want to visit Quebec, mind you... :)
