Do you have a "junk drawer" in your kitchen?
I'm just curious how many folks have one. What kind of stuff is in yours?

1. We Do
we have pens, tape, mail that I don't know what to do with, change that no one wants to put in the change drawer, and misc crap that one day will find a home. And some dead bodies from last Halloween. Ok...we don't really have bodies in our drawer, but it sounded good at the time. LOL.

2. Yes
And it is totally out of control. I can even begin to explain the amount of crap that appears in there.

7. Doesn't everyone?
Our is full of the usual stuff - pens, pencils, tape, staples, batteries, AC adapter cords, playing cards, hairbrush, ponytail holders, outdated mail, stuff like that.

8. LOL! I've got at least three and one junk cabinet.
I used to be so organized until I got married. My mother-in-law was hoping I would bring my husband up to my level. Nope! I sunk to his.

The usual: batteries, nails, pens, scraps of paper, paper clips, rubber bands, oh wait a minute, let me go take a quick peek inventory. I found walkie talkies, charger cords to cell phones and cameras we probably haven't owned in years, a coin from Mexico and a small stubby screwdriver.

And that's just one drawer!

10. Menus and batteries mostly
Most people tend to have such a drawer and also tend to keep all their valuables in about the same place(s) in the house/apartment. I saw a documentary once with convicted (so they were only so good at it) theives and they all could pretty much tell you where to look for cash, wallets, and such. Everyone else probably has it where you keep yours.

No. I have a "junk spare bedroom."
It has a box full of things I need to shred, some boxes of things I need to take to Goodwill but haven't yet, and random things that don't have a place in the rest of the condo.

do I have any drawers that aren't junk drawers in my kitchen.

15. Doesn't everyone?
String, rubber bands, tools that don't work, tools that are never used, tools that have no apparent function, small plastic containers, 3x5 cards, an assortment of plastic and wooden spoons and one :wtf:.

16. Absolutely - and it's a mess.
It's a catch-all for stuff that doesn't belong anywhere and there are times when I can't even close it. :hide:

18. I have, like, four of them...
There's the light bulbs/batteries/tape/scissors drawer.

There's the important papers/mortage/car title/etc. drawer

There's the delivery/take-out menus and coupons drawer

And, finally, the random utensil drawer, which includes several spachulas, ladles, egg beaters, and a whole host of other kitchen impliments whose use I cannot even begin to fathom.

I recommend the method. Much less discord about the clutter in THE drawer and I know where MY junk is ;)

22. OH YEAH.....
When I don't know what to do with something or I think I "might" have to keep it, into the junk drawer it goes.

I even have an overflow junk drawer.

I do clean them out about twice a year.

23. Oh yes
Full of batteries, tape measure, scotch tape, mysterious pieces from puzzles and games, beads, barrettes, paper clips, blah, blah, blah...

I don't put much in there; most of it just seems to magically appear.
