48. True, I like the peppermint soap...
...but I think Dr. Bronner makes a few other scents, too. Haven't tried them yet.

FYI, I just learned that Dr. Bronner is going the "fair trade" route with their soaps. More power to them. Ten million strong and we're All-One! All-One! All-One! Exceptions eternally?

(Wait for it...)

Absolute NONE! All-One! All-One!

I'm a woman, but I myself prefer if it doesn't smell to powdery or floral. Caress soap use to make a nice smelling one, not the pink bar, but now it's gone. B-O-O, H-O-O.

10. Your questions caused me to look at what Wikipedia has to say.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap

Soap is a surfactant used in conjunction with water for washing and cleaning.
It usually comes in a solid moulded form, termed bars due to its historic and
most typical shape. The use of thick liquid soap has also become widespread,
especially from soap dispensers in public washrooms. Applied to a soiled surface,
soapy water effectively holds particles in suspension so the whole of it can be
rinsed off with clean water. In the developed world, synthetic detergents have
superseded soap as a laundry aid.

Many soaps are mixtures of sodium (soda) or potassium (potash) salts of
fatty acids which can be derived from oils or fats by reacting them with
an alkali (such as sodium or potassium hydroxide) at 80°–100 °C in a process
known as saponification. The fats are hydrolyzed by the base, yielding glycerol
and crude soap. Historically, the alkali used was potassium made from the
deliberate burning of vegetation such as bracken, or from wood ashes.

Soap is derived from either oils or fats. Sodium Tallowate, a common ingredient
in many soaps, is in fact derived from rendered beef fat. Soap can also be made
of vegetable oils, such as olive oil. Soap made entirely from such oils, or nearly so,
is called castile soap. The use of the word "soap" has become such a household
name that even cleaning solutions for the body that don't have soap in the
ingredients are referred to as soap.

15. Well, he's not on DU but Mr. SoyCat loves Greek olive oil soap. It's the plain
kind that's unscented--not the tourist kind. Papoutsanis is the brand.

That said, he also loves L'Occitane shea butter soaps in lavender and milk scents.

Then, of course, he also gets into my shower gels... Plus, he has his own. He really loves sandalwood-rose.

Not only do I use liquid Dove, I use a loufa as well.

I hate bar soap and a detest washing with a rag. I never feel clean, in fact I usually feel more dirty after a bar soap/washrag shower.

I started using Dove when I got married and I love how the stuff makes my skin feel.

If I haven't done any auto repairs, Irish Spring bar soap.

For post-maintenance cleanup, I have one of those body wash net thingies that I infuse with Dawn. Yup: the dish soap. It "takes grease out of the way"...including the kind of grease on the bottom of my car.

Normally I use Zest. But I've suffered from dry skin since I moved to Texas and I found some (what appeared to be) glycerine soap (gentle, moisturizing...). After a week I realized it was an anti-flea soap I'd bought for my cat!

So one thing we can say about Khash is he doesn't have fleas.......
