1. Consumer Reports October 2006 issue tested vacuums. |
|
Kenmore Progressive with direct drive and the Eureka Smart Vac Ultra were best buys in upright models.
The Dyson DC15 scored 6th out of 38 tested.

6. We sell a lot of these. They don't come back. |
|
In Fayetteville, people will return something if it's even one iota off...so the fact that of all the hundreds of Dysons we've sold we've received maybe two back (one for a warranty claim--the customer wanted another one--and one because the customer tried to vacuum up water and fried the thing) is pretty impressive to me.
This is personal preference talking now: Dysons don't have bags. I like a vacuum that has a bag, so I wouldn't get a Dyson. The people who like bagless vacs like Dysons a lot.

7. I have the Dyson Animal. I LOVE it. |
|
I did a lot of research online and read a lot of consumer reports and customer reviews on several brands and models before I bought. Finally settled on the Dyson Animal, and consider it an excellent investment.
I got mine via an ebay auction for about $365, almost $400. with shipping.
It is very versatile, great for stairs because you don't have to lug the thing with you, and the long wand is perfect for getting spiderwebs off the ceiling. The cleaning is unbelievably good and I love not having to buy and mess around with changing vaccuum bags. I really don't know how I lived without it before.
FYI. Hope that helps.

9. We swear by Kenmore. Sears stands behind them, and they're right |
|
down the road. We don't have animals and I don't care for a bagless vacuum.
Good luck on your purchase, whatever it is!
