So, I guess, sometimes, there is something to my name... |
|
I have been having difficulties with my Ipod shuffle since it decided to begin flashing green and orange at me and refusing to play or connect to my computer in any way.
After restore and whatnot I am finally up and running but, for the life of me, could not get the thing partitioned to carry data. Having only Dial-up at home has made this task frustrating as downloads for new iTunes SW is not really DialU-friendly.
So the past two nights I have popped the thing in my home PC, brought up my finally installed iTunes 7.0 and cannot find the disk enable feature. At work this morning I finally read in the new manual where it says (quite conveniently) "you may have to scroll down".
This is great news, sort of. I slap my head in disbelief that I could be "that guy", but now have to go all the way back across town to my apartment where my iPod is registered to the library and scroll down to give myself the data space to move the songs I bought back home and put them on there to listen.
Man, this seems like a lot of effort. Especially when, supposedly, technology is there to make our lives easier and more convenient. I know they think they are stopping music piracy somewhere in all this, but come on.
I do take responsibility for my inability to notice that the scroll-bar indicated I had further options, and I'm not saying something needs to be done. I just feel like a doof and wanted to share.
:P

Speaking of republican scumbags in the PNW. I noticed an anomaly maybe you can help me with.
I watch a great deal of TV and I see numerous different commercials for Maria Cantwell (who I think is a great senator), but I have seen zero commercials for her opponent.
In fact, the only time I have seen McGavic's name mentioned on TV is in the DNC anti-McGavic commercials. So WTF!?
I would like to think that this is because the republicans know they have no shot at winning here, or that I am not watching TV at the right times, but there is no way that is possible. I watch a great deal of prime time in real-time and I see Maria everywhere.
Is it just me?

but far fewer than I was a couple of weeks ago. See: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/289547_senate21.htmlA few theories there, but hardly a definitive answer.

4. I don't see her seat as that vulnerable |

People in this state love her (for the most part) and, at the very least, more and more people in the NW hate republicans enough to not care who they are putting up, we won't vote for them.
I think I'm on the side of "they know they've lost and are putting their money elsewhere". Because its most likely true.
What would anger me is if they put no effort into ads, Cantwell seems the sure victor and then suddenly McGavic wins. I would scream foul faster than they could finish counting the ballots.
There was shadiness in the Gregoire election if you ask me and I plan to go out on patrol with my PAG (the Movement) and a few digital cameras to make sure there are no unfair or illegal voting practices going on. It seems far fetched in my part of the world, but you never know, and it helps to make us feel like we are being part of the solution.
