1. Cool!!
I like the blue and your shadowing is excellent. :applause: You look so serious and pensive. Are you thinking about something deep?

I still haven't mastered taking pictures without the blue cast.

Thanks for the compliments. :-)

13. "And as she stared out into nowhere
I thought, yes, I thought she might break down and cry
When I whispered I thought I could love her
She just said "Baby, don't even bother to try"
And I watched as she spoke
Her words chilled my bones
All her friends did her favors
That were really just loans
And she never had dreams
So they never came true
The palest of angels
Angel in blue"

and brought them all together for one night
I know they'd never match my sweet little imagination
and everything looks worse in black and white.
kodachrome it gives us those nice bright colors
gives us the greens of summer
makes you think all the world is a sunny day, oh yeah
I've got a nikon camera
I'd love to take your photograph
so mama don't take my kodachrome away ..."

16. Its beautiful
why do you look so angry? For a first self portrait, choosing that expression must mean something specific to you...

My first self portrait was musical. I fear doing one in any form of visual media.

21. I can see the concentration
as you definitely look focused on something, but the whatever you are thinking about does not bring you pleasure. In fact it looks to cause a great level of consternation.

It does not at all detract from the beauty of the painting. Well done.

however, the election is coming up - it hasn't been pretty, so that may mean something.

22. you look like you need some red roses
for a blue lady:
I want some red roses for a blue lady
Mister florist take my order please
We had a silly quarrel the other day
I hope these pretty flowers chase her blues away

I want some red roses for a blue lady
Send them to the sweetest gal in town
And if they do the trick, I'll hurry back to pick
Your best white orchid for her wedding gown

a subject; I remember how the picture of your cat turned out as well...I guess it's the way you capture the look in the eyes.

Did you find it difficult to paint? Just wondering. My self-portrait was the most
difficult thing I ever attempted...and I failed miserably. Congratulations on
your success!!

42. Well, I'm taking a head painting class...
with this guy: http://nathanfowkes.blogspot.com/

Our first class was this past Monday, he likes to give out homework assignments. He wants us to do x number of head paintings covering the stuff we learned in class and wants us to paint from life - no exceptions. So, there will be several self-portraits in the near future. :scared:

I started to paint again back in May '06, I hadn't touched it in 22 years! :wow: It's still kind of difficult but I've been taking classes here: laafigart.com/ and really like the way they teach technique, I've got a way to go but I'm having a good time. :-)
