not for everyone...
But it gives a little insight into how crazy the 1970's were for some...
It wasn't the 60's that were wild, it was the 70's that was actually the fucked up decade...
That's when disallusion escaped from Manhattan and became apparant in suburbia...

2. The direction was a little poor at times and the use of music |
|
was heavy handed...
But the performances of Annette Benning and Jill Claybourn are worth the price of admission...
And, oh yea, Alec Baldwin, as usual, turns in a fine performance in a supporting role...

And I love love love all those actors!
Maybe I'll catch the DVD........
We rarely go to the movies anymore.......too noisy, too much sticky stuff on the floors, and like that......
But sometimes I really miss the group atmosphere...the laughter and what not.......
Thanks for the rec......

6. The story supposedly really happened... |
|
it sounds too twisted to be true - I bet it's a bunch crap like that Frey guy's story.

7. All the good parts are in the trailer. |

Trying too hard to be a Wes Anderson film.
Heavy-handed eccentricity, no plot, annoyingly in-your-face-Elton-John soundtrack.
Blah.

And Wes Anderson films are messy films to begin with...
But the two lead women, Annette BEnning and Jill Claybourn gave wonderful performances...
