I had a decent breakfast
I got up in time to load my bags, get in some light taichi practice, and have a decent breakfast. It was a scrambled egg, mexican rice, and a slice of homemade pumpkin pie. (recipe on request)

:9

How was your breakfast?

6. My pumpkin pie recipe
adjust ingredients as needed:

1 can of pumpkin (approx. 400g/14oz)

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup/60ml honey

1 T/30ml butter

3/4 cup/180ml half&half/whole milk

dash of salt

1/2 tsp/2ml pumpkin pie spice

1/4 tsp/1ml cayenne pepper

Pre-heat oven to 400F/205C Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Transfer to frozen pie crust and level off batter. Bake for 15 min, then lower temperature to 300F/150C for 40 min. Test center with knife making sure that knife comes back without batter stuck to it.

Enjoy. :9

7. Thanks for the recipe
that sounds easy enough. What is in the pumpkin pie spice? Since we don't have that here in Europe I need to use the spices combined.

2. I'm jealous
Have to fly the early bird out of San Diego this morning...only real breakfast choice at the airport in the morning is McDonalds, which I despise.

3. That stinks

when I fly cross-country, I cheat and get a sandwich at the supermarket the night before. Considering the awful food choices at the airport and they don't have meals on the planes anymore. I was shocked that we only got 2 snacks flying from here (Atlanta) to L.A. and back. At I got to keep the whole water bottle.

Three cups of coffee.

So far. But it's only 7:45, so...

12. I'm not.
Yet. I have a high tolerance for a lot of things so give me a couple more hours. And I'm off for another cup. I'll drink three or four pots before I go to bed tonight...but in my defense, I'll switch to half-caff after this pot.

Heh...and I love that strip. That's why god invented programmable coffee makers -- I don't know what I'd do if I went downstairs and had to make it at 6:30 a.m.

13. I switched to tea years ago
I barely drink coffee anymore. Only if there is totally no other choice. And then I prefer cappuccino over coffee. If I would drink a coffee now (4pm) I couldn't sleep at night.

16. I drink tea when I'm feeling icky...
Constant Comment, sweet with a splash of milk.

Other than that...

I really ought to cut down a little bit, I probably do drink too much of it. First thing I reach for in the morning and most nights I carry a cup up when I settle in for the night to read or to sleep.

It doesn't keep me up, but it's probably a bit much.

20. I had the usual
but I'm jealous of the pumpkin pie...I haven't had any yet this season. When I get my left over pie from xgiving I'm saving some for breakfast now. ;)

23. I bought a blueberry loaf and a banana nut loaf
and some kind of cookie thingies at the bake sale at my polling place. I might go get some.

That way I won't feel guilty about the cappucino Jelly Bellies that I bought at the drug store when I stopped for batteries.

:P
