I'm pretty sure I have two job offers coming.
I already know which one I'm going to accept -- Firm # 1 -- even though my second interviews there aren't until tomorrow.

But the other place, Firm # 2, where I've already had third interviews, REALLY wants me. I'm going to hate to disappoint the HR director. I luv huh... ;)

Yesterday when I had my first interview at Firm # 1, on the way out I ran into a good friend from the firm I just left. Hadn't seen him in a couple of years. He gave me a big hug and said to the HR director, "Hire this woman. Immediately." Then he said to her as we continued down the hall, "Come see me after you drop her off." :7

But I want to work at Firm # 1 because their benefits are superior. I'll take that one even if their initial salary offer is lower than Firm # 2's.

It won't be long now! The five-month drought will be over. :woohoo:

4. Legal secretary.
I took some time off to rest, then had a bunch of health problems. With those resolved, I tried to find something closer to home - in vain. To return to work in DC is a bitter pill to swallow, but I'm ready now.

:hi:

5. Wooo hoo!
I wasn't aware that you had such a *reputation* bertha.;)
I hope for the best offer from Firm #1 -- can't hurt to have the better salary offer from your preferred firm after all.

8. Yeah, well, I rock. I'm a great employee.
Once I realized I had no good choice but to return to DC to work, all it took was to find the right headhunter. Thank the fates for headhunters. :)

9. That's wonderful -
congratulations. Where is firm 1 located in DC? I ask because I work in DC on Pennsylvania and 22nd Street. It's good to know there are other DUers around.

11. Chinatown.
About 8th and G. Directly adjacent to two museums (American Art & Nat'l Portrait Gallery!) and the MCI Center. I don't care about bball/hockey, but I will dig being that close to those museums.

Unfortunately, it's also right next to a Chipotle's restaurant. :trouble:

Howdy, Neighbor!

12. OOOH and you're close to
Jaleo's too - one word Tapas! They are at 480 7th St. NW.

I used to work at 7th and Penn in 701 Pennsylvania and sometimes we would go up to Jaleo's on a Friday for a long lunch. Since they renovated and re-installed the Museum of American Art and National Portrait Gallery they are very nice. You'll have a good time exploring them. Again, congratulations and good to have you in the city.

10. Congrats to you!!!!
I just dumped the company I was working for a whole three months. They sucked and they are assholes. I had to take the gig because I could not find anything for about 4 months. In the meantime I was waiting for the Main Event opportunity to come about and it finally did. So I got to resign immediately last Friday and it was a great feeling. I kept hearing the classic Johnny Paycheck song, "Take this job and shove it" in my mind.
I get to transfer my real estate license to the new homebuilder tomorrow and finally, finally I can start making a decent living again. Its been a long year for me. But good things happen to good people like you and me :)
