I need some big time computer help here...
I used to have a decent mp3 recorder, but lost it in my HD crash.

Can anyone tell me of any GOOD ones, (*NO* fucking shareware,) and where I can find them?

2. No.
For recording mp3 files from an outside source, like a turntable.

5. Use audacity, but you *must* install lame_enc.dll!
Go to this page and place the lame_enc.dll in the audacity folder.

Next do this:

Open Audacity and go to Edit > Preferences.

* Go to the 'File Formats' tab.
* In the bottom of the window there is a section tabled 'MP3 Export Setup'.
* Click on the link tabled 'Find Library'
* This will ask you if you want to locate the lame encoder. Click 'yes'.
* In the dialogue box, go to the folder where you put the lame-enc.dll file earlier, and select it.
* Click OK.

Now you should be able to save what you recorded in audacity out to mp3.
