7. The one in which Troy McClure married Selma |
|
It was excellent story telling, had some true emotional content, and really was, overall, one of the Simpson's rare serious stories.
I also love it because I am a major Phil Hartman fan, esp. Troy McClure, and this particular episode has about 30 films, TV shows, and movies of McClure mentioned.
And I'm a big fan of Selma and Patty.
That episode has everything I love in it! Serious story telling, hilarious moments, troy and selma, and lots of hilarious movie titles.

9. "Homerphobia", with special guest voice John Waters |
|
TV Guide synopsis, if the title doesn't ring a bell:
"The Simpsons make friends with a kitsch collector. But the fact that he's gay makes Homer fearful of his potential influence on Bart."

But there was an episode in which Duffman got depressed and disappeared - the family searched for him and found him in a seedy section of town at the Springfield Men's Mission. And there above the door was a sign reading "We Add God To Your Misery."
Funniest thing I ever saw, bar none. I still laugh uncontrollably whenever I think of it.
