Does anyone have any good slow cooker recipes
they would like to share? Especially beef or chicken? I'm just tired of same old--same old. Looking for something different.

13. your wish has been granted
Ingredients:

2 cups cubed butternut squash
2 cups chopped carrots
2 onions, chopped
1 cup chopped zucchini
2 (14 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
15 oz. can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
14 oz. can vegetable broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. alt
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 cups hot cooked couscous
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese

Combine all ingredients except for couscous and cheese in a 3-4 quart slow cooker and mix well to combine. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or until all vegetables are tender. Serve with couscous and sprinkle with cheese.

you can play with the veggies and the cheese; the couscous too can be changed. omit the cheese altogether for a vegan meal.

10. How about pork?
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 09:08 PM by hippywife
Place a pork roast in the slow cooker, cover with saurkraut (regular, not bavarian.) Pepper and garlic powder to taste. Lovely when done and as easy as it gets. No chopping, slicing or dicing!

12. My daughter and husband love this one...
4-6 cube steaks
2-3 packets of brown gravy mix

Flour, salt, pepper each cube steak and lightly brown in skillet. Place in slow cooker. Add 2 or 3 packets of brown gravy mix (already pre-mixed w/water according to directions)Pour on top of the cube steaks just to cover. Let simmer all day on low or cook on high around 4 hours.
I like to serve with mashed potatoes and green beans, corn or cream corn. yummy...mmmmm

Another yummy recipe:

Heinz 57 Beef Stew

1 Large package of frozen stewing veggies
1 package cubed beef
1 bottle Heinz 57 sauce

Lightly brown the cubed beef; Pour the stewing veggies into slow cooker, add browned beef and bottle of Heinz 57; fill empty bottle with water, shake and pour over veggies, beef and sauce, you want just enough liquid to come to the top of the veggies; cover and let cook 4-6 hours. Add liquid, if needed.
