So, What Are All You Cool DUers Doing This Weekend?
It's snowy here is noth central Wisconsin, but I plan to sit tight tonight, watch a little t.v., have a little Irish coffee, with a roaring fire going, watching movies, being on DU : ), and tommorrow Iplan to do some shopping, and Sunday I hope to watch my beloved but struggling Green Bay Packers beat the Vikings in Minnesota. That pretty much covers it. Oh, and I will read Helen Thomas' book "Watchdogs Of Democracy."

and taking him to Chuck-E-Cheese for a brief playtime and dinner. Then, he'll have a Jacuzzi bath here and sleep overnight.

Tomorrow, we're going to a preview of the movie "Happy Feet" -- Everybody Dance Now! With penguins dancing!

Have a great weekend!

In peace,

Radio_Lady and Grandpa

Our almost-six-year-old bundle of fun!

18. Let us know what you think of "Borat" -- I can't decide whether to spend the money or not!
The new dancing and singing movie, PG-rated "Happy Feet" is opening soon. We're taking our six-year-old grandson to see it tomorrow morning.

Then, in the PM, my friend and neighbor is making dinner for us! Yummy!

Have a good weekend!

Radio_Lady in Oregon

PS. Forgive me -- but what is the "Tuvan throat singing concert"?

of singing from the back of their throats and from the voicebox/diaphragm, and producing two distinct tones, say a low tone and a whistling tone. It sounds really cool.

Borat is not usually my speed of movie, but I really like good satire. So we'll see.

on edit, here's the Tuvan and Genghis Blues CD website Goddess was talking about...

26. Someone was just telling me tonight of a throat singer...
who was a blind blues singer at the start of his career. There's been a documentary made about this guy. He learned throat singing by listening to a recording, and entered a competition in Mongolia. I'm going to have to find the movie, because it sounds fascinating.

30. Me too! Maybe.
We have good friends who are Saint Bernard breeders and they had an unexpectedly large litter a couple of months ago--twelve puppies in all. They're REALLY picky about who they sell their pups to, so they've only been able to find homes for 7 of them so far. They offered to let us have one for free, so long as we agreed to sign a contract promising to care for it properly (routine vet care, proper grooming, training, no dumping it in the pound, etc.) which is fine with me.

I need to talk to my vet and see if I can arrange to get the routine puppy care on credit and pay him when the student aid checks come in. If he agrees, them we'll have ourselves a new puppy. :)
