I'm not saying Knight's a saint, he's far from that, but in this specific case, all he was doing was trying to motivate his players.

I remember when you could set a watch to IU choking in the first round of the NCAA tournament, and what kind of powerhouse has Texas Tech become since he started coaching there? It doesn't help matters that good players don't want to play for him. Think of all the decent NBA players who played their college ball under Knight. OK, Isiah Thomas....AND?......

He's too shitty a coach to be given as much free reign as he gets.

16. I have met him a couple of times

He was involved in a wedding of one of my cousins in Bloomington and he was a perfect gentleman. It was funny he didn't say much of anything but at the reception the room sort of gravitated toward him and he was very gracious and told some pretty funny stories. I am not saying he isn't completely inappropriate at times but he is not the boogie man. He won games and he graduated 98% of his players at IU. There are some high profile coaches that have not graduated a single player, bob huggins being one of them. Ask Landon Turner's family about Bob Knight and they will tell you everything he did for Landon after he was paralyzed. Everyone has there good amd bad points. Miles Brand used Bob Knight as a spring board to get the NCAA position. there are two sides to every story.
