1. I miss Jean Shepherd
He was an amazing story teller! (he narrated the film, was on radio for many years, and had a number of hysterical books "Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories" "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash")

14. Over the years I got to be quite a connossieur of soap.

Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH!

16. that was the first movie that made me laugh myself sick
I was 11 or 12 when it hit the theaters and I saw it on a Saturday afternoon with my best friends and my two brothers. We didn't want to see "a heartwarming family comedy" as it was advertised, but we'd seen everything else in the theater by then.

A Christmas Story hit me like a left hook and knocked me into hilarious delirium. The effect was probably amplified by the fact that I didn't think it would be funny at all.

Go figure.

Yes, Virginia, there is a stage version of this classic tale. :-)

It was a blast. :D :bounce: My favorite parts were opening the crate with the leg lamp, and yelling at the Bumpus hounds when they destroyed xmas dinner.
