Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 06:32 PM by CarolinaPeridot
:hide: Seriously ... should I wear sweats or heats - or doll it up with both ? What would you do?

Since its in a garden do I have to bring my own shovel and do I have first pick on olives ? Do they have both black and green olives ? or only one - maybe I should call ahead .

:hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide::hide:

Leather, veal, any other animal products, or you could go with kudzu, if its available in your area.

11. Cool thing is . . .
there is an Olive Garden in Westwood, just a block from UCLA, so you can dress in fur, get tazed, order chicken, all at the same time. It is against the law to dance in westwood though, so don't drink too much wine and shake it in the street or you'll be in real trouble.

Cheers :toast:

14. You CAN'T DANCE in Westwood? Please tell me it's not true.
I went to UCLA and we danced up a storm -- of course, that was 1959 and 1960.

15. No Dancing!!
City ordinance: No dancing in Westwood. Westwood is not completely friendly to its student population. Students outnumber residents there 25:1, and UCLA is still a "public" university in a neighborhood of mulitmillion dollar houses and is supported by multimillion dollar donors (Geffen, et. al.), and attended by the riff-raff of the universe. The natives fear chaos, which happens on occasion of basketball victory, football loss, dancing, and pool shooting -- trouble here in river city. There are, though, restaurants, such as Olive Garden, at which students do not eat (can't afford the food or the fur). Students are expected to stay on campus without bothering Westwood citizens, dancing, or causing any other ruckus unless they prefer being tazored.

17. Wow! What a description! I lived on Hilgard Avenue, right next to
campus, at a residence for girls called Twin Pines. I don't remember riff-raff or million dollar homes.

That's pretty sad -- hope you have a friendlier neighborhood to go to. In peace, Radio_Lady

18. Joking about the riff-raff.
UCLA students are still the best!!! Was one, as were you. Know Hilgard ave well. The neighborhood though is, indeed, filled with multimillion dollar houses, and Westwood cares little about the service of the student community. As for me, Don't cry for me Argentina: I live in Silverlake L.A. and love it (dance all you want at spaceland). Peace to you.

20. but .. the scene left Westwood many years ago
and moved to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, the weekend mob scene.

And million dollar homes are no big deal. Those little Spanish style homes in Santa Monica have a median price of $2 million.

13. If we could afford to eat at Olive Garden I would probably wear jeans.
But we usually just do local mom and pop's. Much cheaper.

BTW, I like Olive Garden. :hi:
