Guillotine!
This is a fine game by the Steve Jackson company. The players are competing headsmen in post revolutionary France.
The one with the most valuable heads in their basket wins.
The Cardinal's or Kings head is worth 5. An innocent victim -2.
There are cards that the players use to manipulate the order of the nobles waiting for execution.
You want to maneuver the tragic figure or innocent victim to a rival while servicing Marie Antoinette yourself, for example.
I propose an improvised version featuring Chimpie, the Neo Cons, The Bush Crime Family and perhaps some House pages as innocent victims.
Assign a card or counter to each of them.
Assign a value to each of them. I suggest a maximum of 5 (Chimpie or Cheney) and a maximum penalty of -2 (house page)
If you're using the actual guillotine cards, line them up in front of a cardboard guillotine and get cutting.
If you don't have the game, simulate the effect by rolling two dice.
If the first is odd, you may move one marker exactly the second number of spaces forward or back.
If the first is even, you may move one marker up to the second number of spaces forward or back.
The marker at the foot of the guillotine when a player finishes their turn foes into the basket!
Its not as good as owning the game, but it should provide the right flavor.
(We thought it was fun!)
