I made it through my minor surgical procedure today!
I am in a bit of pain, but really do not care (I have pain meds).

I love the California Healthcare laws....NOT

I had to repeat to everyone who came in to the pre-op room, in my own words, what the doctor was going to do to me...

WONDERFUL thing. I used to work for large insurance companies in New England -- helping to settle medical malpractice claims. You know, the ones where the doctor took off the wrong foot? Or cut out the wrong kidney?

Keep saying your name and what they're supposed to be doing as long as you can before they give you the final sedation. It helps with medical errors, which are rampant in hospitals.

Just sayin'... Remember me? A large HMO got tangled on itself a year or so ago and prescribed more than twice as much thyroid medicine (175 mcg. instead of 075 mcg. to me for over a year and nobody noticed. Luckily, I didn't die...
