so we had ourselves a bigot in for thanksgiving this time |
|
well we do every time...its my mother...this time she had some of her usual classic lines about how i am a disappointment, which is kinda funny cos i got my grad school acceptance letter earlier that morning.
she also said that i would hate my tattoo as i got older...and i said..i don't think i will be against gay rights as i get older.

Why do people have to be complete assholes just because it is a fucking holiday? (question of the day)

I'm sorry your mom is a bigot...
You deserve better, IMHO........
She should be proud of her beautiful and intelligent daughter!
I would be, if you were mine......:pals:

You most certainly deserve better, but please don't give up on your mom... she may come around.

At a family gathering for Thanksgiving I had a "conversation" with member of the "greatest generation". He went down the list - blacks, gays and Jews. Guess I got him riled up picking apart his arguments. Such blind stupidity is really scary, particularly when such people are incapable of rational thought.
Just don't let the bastards get you down. And good luck with grad school!
On edit - I wasn't thinking of your mother with my comments. I had my family member in mind. Mothers and fathers are special, no matter their flaws. I'm sure your mom loves you and cares. After many years my aunt accepted her son as gay. Now she has a wonderful relationship with both her son and his partner. I hope the same recognition happens to you.

6. I'm so sorry about that |

it irks me...when you've gotten your acceptance to grad school.
That thing people say about tattoos and getting older kills me. I mean, a lot of people have kids and regret it later, but at least you can't hurt a tattoo's feelings over and over repeatedly for the rest of it's f*cking life...
