Sad day for comic book geeks
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 02:55 AM by Giant Robot
I'm usually the last to find things out, but for all the comic book geeks out there who have not heard yet, Dave Cockrum passed away on Sunday from complications from diabetes. He was an artist, who in my opinion, drew some amazing comics and was instrumental in creating the modern X-Men that we all know now. The art has lost a giant today.

2. Probably would not have made CNN if there was not that
strange (at least to the non-comic geek world) dichotomy of being known for the X-Men but wearing Superman pj's. I hope they gave him some fun and comfort in his final days anyway. Sorry to be so morose about this, just too much sadness in too short a time period.

4. I'm a bad comic book geek
I know way more about the x-men than I do about any of the people who draw them, or write them or ink them.

5. Just wow. I have so many of his X-Men issues.
I was a big time X-Men geek, but gave it up in the mid 90's when the stories went into the crapper. Those mid-70's issues were some of the best writing in comics.
