Grease: You're The One That I Want
So, any good movies i should rent while this crap is on?

http://www.nbc.com/Grease/

"Grease" is the word, and NBC is looking for the next Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko in "You're the One That I Want," a new talent competition series where America choose the two leads for a new Broadway production of "Grease" opening in June 2007!

The new production of "Grease" will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall ("The Pajama Game"). Paul Nicholas and David Ian Associates, Nederlander Presentations and Phoenix Productions will produce. Jim Jacobs, the co-creator of "Grease" along with Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Kathleen Marshall and renowned theatre producer David Ian are set as judges on "You're the One That I Want."

HOST BILLY BUSH AND CO-HOST DENISE VAN OUTEN
Their fun chemistry and humor make Billy and Denise quite the dynamic pair. Billy and Denise will also roll up their sleeves to do production numbers in the live shows!

1. I'm proud to say I've never seen any version of 'Grease'
That could be the highest achievment of my life, in fact.

2. For reasons better left unsaid and confidential,
I am very familiar with the project. It's yet another BBC import, a U.S. version of the highly popular How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? which was a big hit in the U.K. (in that one, they were looking for a person to play the role of Maria in The Sound of Music).

I predict it will be a hit: a mixture of American Idol competition with the possibility of actually finding two emerging musical theater stars(?).

3. I love the movie
But this TV show sounds like complete and utter crap.

Two words: Billy Bush. 'Nuff said.

6. Kathleen Marshall is a great choregrapher
I usually despise those types of shows, but love musicals. That being said, NBC manages to lower everyone's IQ about 50 points while they coat everything with cotton candy, so I guess I'd pass, too.
