Question for the Martial artists |
|
There is a school near my work that teaches xingyi and bagua that I would like to check out and hopefully start attending. From what I have read about this place it is a closed school and the instructor is very well known. I have the masters email address and the schools phone number. What would be the proper way to contact the school?

Some are probably marital artists too, but I'm not looking to pry into their private life.

2. first you need a scroll of aged rice paper |
|
then a master caligrapher to write an intruduction stating -
Your name Your title The name of your previous master (if you have one) A statement of lineage stretching back to the Tang Dynasty
A short ten-line poem expressing your deepest thoughts on the place of the Martial Arts in spiritial growth.
The scroll must be hand delivered by a Shaolin monk.
Or -
You could e-mail

I had the scroll all done and the monk was on his way over to pick it up when I read the "Or"

5. I would call the guy up... |
|
prove to him that you're really sincere, ask if you can come observe a class, tell him about any prior experience you have, etc.
He might not take you, but if you prove you're serious, he'll give you a shot. The one guy I train with sometimes doesn't really like taking newcomers, but he does on very rare occaisions. They often don't last too long, because they're thrown straight in with brown and black belts. If they can keep up, they get a really good education though.
