4. According to my sisters the party planners, it is practically a
delicacy in Hawaii. Sister 2 is making fried rice as part of the meal and is putting in small cubes of Spam. Too, the caterer is preparing some Spam Musubi:

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_musubi

"Spam musubi is a very popular snack or luncheon food in Hawaii made in the tradition of Japanese onigiri or omusubi. A slice of Spam is placed onto a block of rice and a piece of nori (dried seaweed) wrapped around the Spam-rice combination to hold it together. There is a common misconception that Spam musubi is a variation of sushi. In reality, it differs from sushi in that its rice lacks the vinegar required to classify it as such.

"Spam musubi is appreciated for its taste and portability. A single piece, wrapped in cellophane, can be purchased at small deli-type convenience stores all over the Islands, ranging in price between one and two dollars. Spam musubi rice molds are available at many kitchen stores in Hawaii. These molds are a few inches deep with a width and breadth that matches a slice of Spam."

12. Here's a good one:
My wife and I are in the grocery, behind a young woman in the express checkout line who is holding only three items: a large cucumber, a small bottle of cooking oil, and a HUGE bottle of wine. A friend approaches her and asks, "What are you doing tonight?" Young lady answers, "Just staying in." Now this is very wrong, and very juvenile, and presumptive, but everyone in the line started laughing (even the woman's friend) because we were all thinking the same thing:

"Big cucumber, oil, huge bottle of wine? Hell, I'd be staying in, too!"
