I'm down 40 since last January, mostly from the treadmill and reasonable dieting. It feels good to have a decent body. Another 15-20 lbs and I'm 16 years old again (well, at least weight-wise)

30. That Totally Rocks!
Since Bertha was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes this summer and her doctor said, "lose weight or die" she's been trying really diligently to get her weight, and blood sugar, under control. I thought maybe the best thing I could do to support her is to follow largely the same diet.

I had gotten up to a high of 225 pounds. That's on a 5'-7.5" small-boned frame. Since I started following Bertha's low-carb, low calorie diet I've lost 40 pounds. Another 35 and I'll reach my goal weight.

Bertha is doing well with her program, and I am so proud of her. Weight loss is an all consuming struggle when one lives to eat instead of eats to live.

39. Well the best advice I can give is start with a simple
diet like the Cabbage soup diet and then go with eating lots of healthy things like veggies.

Keep the calories between 800-1400 and you should lose some weight every week. Forgive yourself for the off days and just keep plugging.

40. Congratulations, dorktv!
:bounce: :toast:

I am in the process of losing some weight myself. I dropped about 70 pounds back in 2003 and kept it off for a while. However, the last couple of years were pretty busy, stressful, and sometimes painful, and I ended up "falling off the wagon" and regained about 45 pounds. The way I lost the weight before, and the way I plan on doing it again, was just to eat in moderation and exercise. I never stopped exercising, but my eating habits got really bad this year, possibly worse than when I was at my heaviest! However, I decided to start eating in moderation again this week and increasing my cardio exercise and I have already dropped about 5 pounds. Now that I'm done with school, the election is over, and I'm out of what turned out to be a very bad relationship, I am under a lot less stress. I plan on keeping it off this time!
