he says it's a british Blue - I thought it was a Russian, too --
http://mironov.info/Pet"Chairman of the Council of Federation Sergey Mironov about his – the blue British shorthair cat Agath:
True to his feline nature, Agath is very sensible and wise. But, surprisingly, he has a lot of dogs’s habits. For example, when I take him outside, he always follows me. Even if he gets carried away by something, he runs back to my call. Agath isn’t that sort of “cat that walks by himself”.
This photo has captured us working side by side. We have a special ritual: every time I sit down to work at my desk, Agath comes to the door of my study and starts mewing. This means I have to clear the right side of the table of my paperwork to make room for him. Then Agath comes closer and looks at me inquisitively. I nod giving him a sign that his “work place” is ready and Agath jumps onto the desk and lies down on my papers. As our ritual requires, I let him rest there for a while and then say to him: “Agath, move aside”. With an air of importance he rises and takes his customary place on the right – his tail towards me and his muzzle towards the door. We can work like that for hours.
My cat has one more peculiar trait – he hates closed doors. Frankly speaking it is my first cat and I’m really not sure – whether it’s normal or not for cats to hate closed doors…
Anyway, all the rooms in my flat should be open – otherwise Agath will protest by loud mewing.
Such is my pet Agath. He’s very amusing and often makes me laugh. Each time I play with him I feel relaxed and happy. In these moments I take a little rest from people and everyday duties and realize what a pleasure it is to have a cat for company."
