1. In sunny AZ now, but I grew up in CO and MT and there is nothing

quite as sweetly breathtaking as a newly fallen mantel of snow. Of course, I didn't have to fight with the furnace--that was Dad's job!

13. I'm in AZ, too...

and I pulled out my winter coat for the first time in 8 years, since I moved here from Chicago. I kept the coat just in case I went to visit my sister in the winter. The "cold" finally got to me. I have turned into such a wuss. 36°F and I can't tolerate the cold. In a Chicago winter, that's a heat wave.

Reminds me of my years in southern NH.
Ice skating, cross country skiing, and the screened in porch for a walk-in freezer.
Bottles of New Year's Eve champagne stuck right outside the kitchen door in a pristine snow bank.
Hot buttered rum and mulled wine.
And the fireplaces.
Best steaks I ever cooked in my life was in one of the fireplaces.
And roasted micks in the ashes and coals.
Marshmellows!
And S'mores!

Damn. I almost miss it.

6. Looks my my yard, less the downed tree in my front window

yep, ice storm, and large branch entered the front window. I will flame ya, don't like winter storms, cause damage, make me cold, and even with 4x4 its very difficult to drive over ice. Now if we would have gotten all snow, I would not be so cranky.
