Well, I think my wife got us banned from a restaurant tonight
She called to order Thai food, then went to pick it up.

When they didn't have her order ready, it was then that she realized, she had ordered from the wrong restaurant. D'OH!!

So, she ordered again, because the restaurant she did order from was much, much further away and she didn't have time to actually go there because of my daughter's dance class tonight.

It took quite a while for her to come back home, so I got worried, called the cell phone, and of course, I hear it ring in the living room.

Shortly after that she walks in, tells me the story and says, "They didn't take my name or anything, so I think we'll be ok." And I said, "Um, honey, Caller ID?."

Another D'OH moment.

No sooner did I say that and the phone rings, it's the restaurant wondering where we are.

Well, sonofa. Sorry about that, we're dorks, big dorks.

2. Offer to pay for the food. They'll probably refuse.
But even if they don't refuse payment, they'll remember you as the air-headed but VERY cool people.

3. Apologize, pay, explain you screwed up, then ask them....
if there are any homeless people nearby. IF there are, ask them to give your dinner to the poor. That would say a lot about you.

4. I see that all the time when I'm getting takeout
I walk up and order, instead of calling it in, so I get to see the drivers come in and out. They often come back from a trip saying 'wrong restaurant'. It seems to be the nature of the biz

6. They'll get over it. If you can't stand having that happen once in a while, you
should not be in the restaurant business.
