I just turned on "Duel" on EMYSTERY. Remember this gem?
A made for TV movie from 1971. Steven Speilberg's first flick about a big-rig chasing and terrorizing an innocent motorist.
This movie creeped me out in 1971 and still does today.
Dennis Weaver stars in this one.

5. I remember it!
It was really scary!

I told my kids that though, and they didn't agree at all. They were like "All he does is drive around this whole movie? How boring!"

Kids! What do they know! ;)

9. I read the short story before I saw the film
Hell of a story, but the film was even better. Amazing camera work, outstanding performance by Dennis Weaver.

10. According to the writer
According to Richard Matheson, he was inspired to write the original short story "Duel" after an encounter with a tail-gating truck driver on November 22, 1963, the day that John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
