This is ridiculous....what does the electric company |
|
do with all of that money we pay them each month? :wtf:
Almost 400,000 people in the St Louis area are once again without power following the winter storm that came through the area yesterday and last night. Now this storm included ice. I still don't think the numbers of people without power should be in the hundreds of thousands. It says to me that we have for too long ignored our infrastructure and it is at our peril.
It is going to be cold here tonight and I know there will be deaths because somone somewhere will use their stove for heat or another ill advised method of getting warm.
Send good vibes or say a prayer for those folks in St Louis without electricity this cold December night.
:grr: :nuke:

but didnt have the cold problem.
a big problem where i live is canopy roads (which are in fact beautiful), but they knock the shit out of power lines
i hawaii, i think power lines are under ground, but that is expensive.

2. There are parts of St Louis where the power |
|
lines are underground but not many. I think I've been lucky now and in July when over 500,000 lost power because I live near an office building and a senior citizen center.
