2. I had a bad experience with a stereo I bought.
Edited on Sat Dec-02-06 01:18 AM by LoZoccolo
Basically it was a DVD player and amplifier home theater system with AM/FM and all that, like a stereo system. But it plays the tracks on CDs with gaps in between them! I wrote to them asking if they had firmware to fix that and they send back a canned response that ended in suggesting that I take it to service center. I don't think I'll be going with them again unless I hear they make some big effort to improve things.

3. None
Not one bad experience with Sony. Ever. It's like when people trash Dodge because they bought an Intrepid that happened to suck. Most of my electronics are Sony made. All have lasted through the years quite well. I've had a stereo now for probably 8 years and it still works fine.

4. Gaming electronics?
Because that's what sucks.

We went through two PS2s in two years--moderately played, taken care of. Have had to return the PSP twice for service in six months.

I will NOT buy a PS3.

I think that most people's complaints are about their gaming consoles.

Sony. Sucks. Period. I was SOOOO pissed when Squaresoft dumped Nintendo and started making every Final Fantasy game isnce FF7 for the Playstation instead. :grr:

10. I had an old PS2
and a new, flat one. Never had a problem with either. I gave the old one to my mom so she could play DVD's without having to get a DVD player. Still running. Bought that back in '02 I believe. Never had a problem with the new one either. And I play those things every day.

19. Not EVEN, why buy a PS when you can have a PC??
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 01:22 AM by smtpgirl
Don't get it.

You can buy a PC w/512 Mg video card and a P4 processor, and you can use it for more than games.

16. Yeah it constantly surprises me
I've had since 2003 and it's still able to play high-end software really well. It keeps coming up with more RAM and video memory by itself. I will have to upgrade soon though. But it has impressed me.

17. Yeah right, that is why I am replacing
my motherboard w/an integrated sound card on my desktop after ONE YEAR of use!!!

Sony VAIO - OVERRATED

Glad I bought the extended warranty for that POS!!

Using my Toshiba Satellite as the stand-by!!! At least it only took 3 years for the Toshiba to break down.

20. Wow- your experience doesn't match mine at all. I've had
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 10:35 AM by LibraLiz1973
great experiences with my vaio. I literally had almost every other brand of computer and hated them all.
I've had 4 Vaios and they have all been awesome. Right now I still have 3 of them (2 desktops and a Laptop)
and they are all great. I retired the 4th one after 4 years and gave it to a friend. It's still running.
I've never had a problem that required service on any of them. I find the Vaio experience unequaled- I am very
computer demanding... always want/need the latest greatest. Vaio keeps me happy!

Sucks that you have had a bad experience :-(
Good luck!!

6. I've had my headphones replaced three times now because the casing they use on the wires is awful.
Edited on Sat Dec-02-06 02:33 AM by primate1
$70 earbud headphones, comfortable as hell, amazing sound quality. The casing on the wires rots away with too much body heat. (Too much, in this case, meaning regular use, walking around campus for a few hours, taking them off during class.)

Fuck Sony. Maddox is awesome, haha.

11. Sony's parts department apparently sucks ass too
I was reading some pro-audio website once, and one of the posters on their forum was trying to buy a proprietary Sony part for his proprietary quarter-million-dollar Sony device--either a mixing console or a digital multitrack--and Sony was being, well, Sony. So some guy came back that he had discovered the cure for AIDS: just put a Sony part number on it, and no one would ever be able to get it.

14. I've had good luck with Sony digital cameras;
many camera sites giving the DSC-H2 extremely high reviews for image quality and other factors (for image quality alone, my decision went to Sony.)

15. Sony no more
I used to have good luck with Sony. They made a good short wave radio. Though with time, I started getting poor quality products. I think they started riding on their former reputation. I migrated to who ever offer the quality product, so I wouldn't have to replace it so soon.

22. I love Sony computers and cameras BUT
I HATE the Playstation(s). Complete pieces of sh*t in my opinion.
I'm and XBox girl all the way. I love my 360- the online gaming is great and the graphics!!!
I've never been a huge fan of sony stereos either.
