For those of you who live and drive in Southern California, here is a tip: |
|
"The car that costs the most does not have the right of way..."
I almost got creamed twice yesterday -- once by a soccer mom driving a BMW "SUV" and once by a Mercedes. I know my simple Toyota Camry doesn't deserve to share the road with these cars, but that doesn't mean you can drive like fucking idiots.

1. Notice how it's always the German Lux cars? |
|
I've never been intimidated by Infinitis or Lexii...just Beemers and Mercedes'.

2. I've noticed that, too. |
|
I hate to stereotype anything/anyone, but Beemers are the ones who try to crowd me out.
Problem for them is, I drive a 92 Volvo station wagon. That sucker goes on forever and he's very wide. I'm not intimidated by much except for huge trucks.

3. Almost got creamed by a Navigator yesterday |
|
Either the drivers in Seattle are nice, or being in a rental midsize SUV has made me more intimidating. But my little Escape was no match for a Navigator that almost ran me off 520 yesterday afternoon.

5. I used to commute on 520 |
|
Crap like that would happen on an almost daily basis. Sorry about that. Hope you're enjoying your stay otherwise. :hi:

7. Definitely the most beautiful city in America |
|
and tied with Minneapolis for the nicest people. And I've been everywhere in the US (except San Antonia and Austin). San Francisco is lovely as well, but it's tough to compete with Seattle's mountains AND water for setting.
Have had an AMAZING time - took the Locks Cruise 2 1/2 hour boat cruise around Elliott Bay and the Lake on Friday, then visited Pike Place Market yesterday, and even the wonderful Mystery Bookstore near Pioneer Square. Plus I've eaten almost nothing but kickass oysters and tons of sushi/maki/sashimi - what a place for a seafood lover!
Off to brunch with JulieRB now, and then to see some falls of some sort.
You're lucky you get to live here, FY!!!!

4. That happens in Tennessee too! |
|
1) You are entitled to block the passing lane on the interstate if; 1a)- You have a sports car/luxury vehicle that can theoretically go fast. 1b)- You are driving a vehicle that cost more than 30,000 USD. 1c)- You are talking on your cell phone.
What I hate is when you pass these idiots on the right they tend to speed up and prevent you from passing. I guess they just want to show you that they "could have" been going faster "if" they didn't have their heads up their ass.

That attitude totally infuriates me, as if my time is less valuable than theirs.
