Robin Hood, Santa Clause & Stickin it to the Man - A Must Read!
This story is so outrageous that I had to share with all of my friends here at the DU. It is absolutely true (and apparently was done elsewhere in the country). Enjoy.

I have two friends form work who, in their surfings of the net, came across a loophole in a national retailer's holiday sale that paid off big time. It turns out that this retailer was offering a large selection of Transformers for $5 and, simultaneously, offering an online coupon that gave the bearer a $10 credit toward the purchase of any transformer (not discount, credit, limit 1 per item, no per customer limit).

I think the loophole is ludicrously obvious. After tax one walks away with a Transformer and about $3.50 in cash. These two friends went to two of this retailer's locations her in the PNW and not only cleaned out every last transformer they had in stock, each walked away with over $300 in other merchandise from the store. They tried a third and were stopped by management, even after vehement protests that it was their offer and they should honor it (apparently they made quite the scene).

It was a site to behold when these two entered our workplace with 4 30 gallon trash bags filled with these toys. The best part of the whole thing is that they only intend to keep the merchandise which was purchased with the change from the transaction. We work in a large call center and the two of them have been giving the toys out to the parents here to use as Holiday gifts and anything that is left a week before Christmas is going to go to Toys-4-Tots & the Salvation Army.

This represents hundreds of brand new toys that were legally taken from a corporate retailer which will be given to needy children. I congratulated both of them on not only a well executed and profitable scam, but also for their thoughtfulness in sharing the rewards of properly sticking it to the man with those in need. They said they considered selling the lot on ebay, but donation felt better to them than just making a couple bucks.

This type of thing is proof to me that Santa Clause is real and exists in all of us if we choose to believe. I hope you enjoyed.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
