being "on the wagon" means you don't drink. You "fall off the wagon" when you go back to drinking after stopping.

Really.
and some Excedrin. It's the only thing that really works on that kind of headache( I call it the dj medicine, because all the djs I know use it to cure their loud music headaches).
The caffine in the Excedrin helps it get through your system quicker, and the water helps it absorb. Of course you know the reason you have a headache and etc. is because the alcohol starves your liver and kidneys of water.
On edit: the Gatorade is good too.

one is 38 and the other 39 so we hang out quite frequently...since they can't handle their liquor like a 22 year old (me) they feel the need to take Chaser so they can "hang". I know when people say aunts an image of little old ladies who like to knit usually conjure up but not these gals...not yet anyway :P

21. It's actually much easier than the alternative.
But that depends on your definition of "easy".

I no longer crave or even mildly desire alcohol. In fact, I haven't since just a couple of months after I got sober. Yeah, that first couple of months was difficult. But my life is "easier" in a lot of different ways now, most notably that I don't break the law, behave like an asshole, or vomit for 12 hour periods from hangovers. Heh.

That said, I'm no puritan. I'm all for normal drinkers enjoying themselves with a few drinks. I go to bars, I hang with my friends and family when they drink, it's all good. But I just have to keep my sobriety primary FOR ME.

I will say, though, that I get a special joy out of Saturday and Sunday mornings these days. :) Just being able to get up early, enjoy the morning, and feel great gives me a big shot of gratitude. :D

26. I know what you mean...
...about 7 years ago, I had a hangover so bad, I was actually bargaining with God that if I lived thru it I wouldn't drink anymore (and the sad thing is, I'm an agnostic!)

Anyway, sure enough I made it thru and quit drinking entirely for 4 years. I now drink an occasional glass of wine, but never ever ever will I go off the deep end again.

Now--I'd love to say I lost 20 pounds or something, but my weight stayed the same. My grocery bill, however, was substantially reduced! Reason enough, I say!

Anyway, Congrats. I doubt you're boring--but I sure am now! At 52, with such a checkered past behind me, I've EARNED the right to be a boring old fart (fart-ette??)

31. Sorry, I don't have any cures, but I have found a method to prevent
hangovers that works for me.

1. Eat a good meal before you go out.

2. Keep a glass of ice water handy to sip on between drinks.

3. Before you go to bed, eat a good breakfast.

I don't know why this particular combination works, but if I follow this routine I feel good the next morning with no hangover.

.. none of that is gonna work. :-)

Hangovers can be ever so slightly related to the amounts involved,
and once these go over a level, hail mary, the headache will
be blinding, drink lots of water or it will be worse. :-)

37. Minudo?
I know people who swear by it

personally, my old cure when I drank, was to drink a lot of water, take a decongestant, take tylenol

and then when all that failed, hair of the dog that bit ye always works once you get past the first one!

but then, like I said, I don't drink now because that was how I cured hangovers and another trick, is if you stay drunk most of the time, then you don't ever have to sober up and you won't get hangovers
