Why I am sometimes such a snob
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 10:32 PM by Rabrrrrrr
It all comes to the fact that I am a pained man.

A man carrying a heavy emotional burden of pain and suffering, about which I've never spoken, even with my closest friends, nor even my closest friends here on DU.

But you see, a number of years ago, when I was eight - I was in third grade, I believe at the time, matcom "borrowed" my Rock'm Sock'm.

I asked him repeatedly to get it back, but he has always claimed that it was his.

I even offered to trade him my Don't Break the Ice AND my Kerplunk

Mind you, this was me willing to trade TWO of **my** games to get back something that was also MINE.

In high school shop class I made a large size Kerplunk, and offered it to him:

Still no bite.

In college, I was digging through my old toys and came across my old favorite - the Smash Up Derby by Kenner

I offered that, with the above, to matcom (that's him in the picture, by the way, when he was playing with them at my house during the year that he was the spokeschild for NAMBLA and BEFORE the Rock'm Sock'm incident), but he still wouldn't give me my Rock'm Sock'm.

And this is why I am such a snob.

2. Well...
All of those toys sucked... I know this because my brothers never let me play with them. So... you still have no excuse. Good bye. :hi:

5. Thanks for setting the record straight, Rabrrrrrr.
I'd heard only the alternate version: that matcom had borrowed and failed to return your Stretch Armstrong.

7. I'll bet you do.
You _would_ have the coolest toys. :P

P.S. Did you know that the gooey stuff inside of Stretch Armstrong is not, in fact, maple syrup? My little brother confirmed this for me on a dare.

15. thank you, thank you so for sharing as you've reaffirmed the 'why it is'...
the both of you, yourself of course, and matcom; shouldn't be able from this point forward, to intertwine your arms in such a fashion as to shape a glorious helix of human love & forgiveness sipping warm/hot chocolate with pretty whipped cream from the inside of a heart shaped box...to the future & beyond together in love & remembrance ~
