LaraMN: Consummate Scholar.
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 10:34 PM by LaraMN
I have my paper written for class tomorrow night. It's largely revised. All the bibliography and citation stuff is done. All I have to do is sit down and proofread it for minor errors. The proofreading process goes as follows:

1. Announce to household that I am going to go work on my paper.
2. Get sucked into NoelMN's SpongeBob Squarepants video game. Refuse to let him play.
3. Realize I need to stop playing and go finish paper.
4. Make NoelMN go to bed. I have fifteen golden spatulas in the game, and he's going to go cash them
in, if he grabs the controller while I'm working on my paper.
5. Decide I'd better throw laundry in the dryer before I get started.
6. Reapply lipstick, so I can look pretty while I work on my paper.
7. Sit down in the office/den.
8. Get out paper.
9. Decide I need coffee, in order to read through my paper.
10. Sit down again.
11. Decide I need to pee before I read my paper.
12. Sit down again.
13. Decide I need something from the kitchen to aid in my proofreading efforts.
14. Walk into kitchen.
15. Realize I can't remember what I needed to get.
16. Sit down again.
17. Decide I should check DU first, just to warm up for working on my paper.
18. Decide to post about how I've managed to avoid proofreading my paper.

MAKE IT STOP!!!

2. So you ARE just likethe rest of us, after all.
Except that you look a helluva lot better in boots and a short skirt than quite a few of us do. Me, for example.

:7

It doesn't aid procrastinative tendencies, that's for sure.

5. This is exactly how I've not accomplished finishing an appraisal
report today. And I've hated myself every second of it too.

I mean really, replace your people with my people and it's exactly the same. Except I've been stopping for tootsie rolls too and to check on my fantasy football team. Don't feel bad.

How's Jack doing? Feeling better?

Jack's doing much better. He ate a whole lot of pizza last night, and while that's not exactly nutritional gold, it's something!

I used to let James go through an entire box of Carmel corn when he was sick. Just to get something...anything in them!

We'll have to update each other on our "progress". Right now I'm "affixing my pictures to my report". Honest. I am. In between sentences here. :hi:

you never know, that might be the part of the paper that tests whether the prof or their assistant actually reads the paper, or weighs it to see if it is heavy enough

 :pals:

you are like me in that you can't remember what the hell you started out to do. I will be at work and walk from my office to another part of the unit, and be like, what am I doing here?

I do the same at home too.

My husband got up with the kids so I could sleep in. He sacked out on the couch (was probably sleeping,) and Jack got into the fridge, took out a pitcher of juice, went into the living room, and dumped it on my husband's back.

31. In the process of "working on my paper" I have also learned that:
A. According to my wrist and elbow measurements and some magic chart, I have a small-to-medium body frame.

B. My bmi is 20-point-something.

C. My ring has dried lotion embedded in the band.

and

D. As I suspected, while "partisan-ish" and "partisan-y" are not words, I CAN find someone's serious use of BOTH on the internet.
