So I bought little Ms. Goblinmonger an iPod for Xmas |

She is 13, so we went with the 30gb Video iPod. She thinks she is really smart about the computer (like most 13 year olds) but in reality, she knows very little (like most 13 year olds) and I will have to do the bulk of the grunt work.
I want to be ready to hit the ground running on Xmas so I can play with my own toys. I get the converting from WMP to iTunes. That isn't a problem.
What do I need to know/do to get films from the DVDs we own onto her iPod. Is it going to be glaringly obvious when I start fooling around with iTunes this next week that your rip from that program, or do I need a converter program.
Know I can get help here. I have an iRiver 20gb mp3 player, so I don't have to worry about learning all that Mac stuff.

I haven't used one but I'm thinking of getting one so I'd like to know too. From what I've seen online it looks like you might have to use a separate program to convert it. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
