Ideas for finding hot women progressives (understanding that hot is relative)

I have had a major heartbreak after 24 years of marriage last year. I am wanting desperately to meet a progressive woman. I have tried a site called DemocraticMatch but there isn't enough activity on there to get me anything at all (I'm in Houston and after months got one email correspondent in Dallas).

Ideas? It's such a jungle of idiot conservatives in Houston. Help!

6. I've looked at the personals on DemocraticMatch, and here's the

mistake most of the men make: In the Describe Yourself section, they write a political essay, or even a political tirade. Or, even worse, they write nothing at all, or something non-descript: "Nice man seeks nice woman."

What will attract the women is an essay that tells what makes YOU unique. How are you different from the millions of "nice guys" out there? Do you have an interesting personal history or an interesting hobby or anything that differentiates you from the crowd?

As for other places to meet left-leaning women:

Okay, I'm going to take a major risk here and tell you to attend cultural events and chat women up in the refreshment line. There are a lot of guys who think Real Men don't attend cultural events, but I'll tell you something, Real Women do. I've seen gay men flirt with each other in the refreshment line. Why don't the straight men get a clue? (P.S. You will not turn into a eunuch if you attend the opera, ballet, symphony, or live theater. I promise.) You might even learn to like these events.

Another place to find women is to take an evening class in something that appeals mostly to women.

Still another place is volunteering for some cause, now that the political candidate season is over. Liberal churches usually have more straight women than straight men in the 40+ age group, too.

I really disagree with this shopping/ hunting approach for finding dates and encourage people to just focus on meeting interesting people. Just get out there in the community and do the things that interest you and talk to women you meet while doing them. If one seems interesting, ask her out for coffee or some other low pressure getting-to-know-you kind of date.

24 years of marraige makes you a bit old to hit the dating sites. Yoga classes are chock full of hot progressive women.

Oh, when they get to the woo-woo parts just close your eyes and think of sex just like in church. Try not to snore in corpse pose.
